This machine is a bit of a fiddle to set up initially, but once I got used to it it does a good job of sharpening my chains. Much quicker and more accurate than using a file

Have now sharpened several chains with this device and shattered a couple of discs. Fine if you’re careful and avoid kickbacksUseful for sharpening whatever is required but wear protection. In truth I’ve been using the unit not quite as recommended ie sharpening on its side

it works fine and two disc are supplied on for .325 chains and the other for is for pico chains, see STHIL . It is accurate and if you take your time , is better than hand filing, not any day, but every day. I was hand filing for years, but i could never get it to what a grinder can do. Therefore, of you cut a lot, this makes a great buy , and its a copy of a well known brand, but HALF THE PRICE, UPDATE, THIS A PRO TOOL

Well on first impressions out of the box. Very good quality. First use, a bit of a fiddle. The chain lock did not do an adequate job of locking the chain. Adjusted the plates then the chain stayed in place. But if the chain was locked to firmly the bed would swivel. Even when it felt locked in place . Also had to put an extra lock nut on the the length adjuster as it kept vibrating off The final annoyance . The bulb for work piece illumination blew on the very first chain. All off these are minor inconveniences Once a little tweaking had been done it worked fine. Accurate sharpening on all pitches of chain. All at a good price . The rest only time will tell?

I was a wee bit dubious about this purchase due to keen price. The sharpener looked similar to more expensive brand products so I decided to take a chance on it. Having now used it several times, I am very impressed with the results, excellent sharpening, e@silt done and the build quality of the machine seems pretty good. With careful use it should last a long time and save loads on commercial chain sharpening services. Also so much easier than with a file.

I_e used several different chain sharpeners over the years but this one works the best! Easy to set up also.
