Cut down to fit !

I knew this would need cutting down for my purpose of supporting a small yacht style cooker under an existing worktop, so it was a bit of a risky purchase !. No problems though, arrived in good time, safe & well. In cutting down the height I inherited an unused shelf, which was then used to create a back, adding additional "parallelogram" stiffness, only really needed as the cooker is, although small, quite a chunk of weight. Quite thin self and leg material (made them interesting to cut !) but stiff & sturdy after a quite easy assembly job. Removing the protective film from the shelves/top is seriously painful !!. You need patience ... and it's still a job with a swearing factor of over 7 !. It's worth it though, just see all the lovely shiny stainless revealed ... eventually. Another cleverly designed lightweight but sturdy item. I might even get another for general use, and leave it "as designed" in one piece !!! ...See more See less

It arrived with several small flanges bent on the shelves where they attach to the end handles. Pliers and a punch and hammer quickly straightened them, but there could easily be better packaging to prevent this.A single sheet of instructions in color was included but it was hardly necessary - you attach each shelf to the end handles with the bolts and rectangular washers supplied, and tighten them with the included Allen wrench. Put the plastic inserts into the bottom holes of the handles and screw in the wheels and you're done. It shouldn't take more than 20 minutes if even that.Once put together it's quite sturdy but it's not quite "restaurant quality" that would hold up under heavy duty use - but even if used daily it should be OK if treated somewhat gently. Of course you'd have to pay twice as much or more to get heavier and better quality. This does appear to be the same cart that others are selling for $20 more and even more, so do some comparison shopping.I would buy this again since it's sturdy enough for my uses. The protective plastic film they put on the 3 shelves is really tough to get off - it mostly comes off in small pieces. We decided to leave it on and just let it wear off over time, as it would have taken much, much longer to get it all off than it did to assemble the cart... ...See more See less
